Lelarnie is a Bundjalung woman, born at Mullumbimby in 1973. She grew up at Yelgun on a farm with four houses on the property. They had an extremely close extended family, with all of her aunts and uncles and cousins living together in close proximity. “We did everything together,” she remembers fondly.
Lelarnie said she uses her baskets as practical, functional objects and often takes them with her when she goes shopping. “I made one for my daughter to take to a wedding to go with her dress; just to put her make up in.”
