biography

Anthony Duval's paintings are inspired by his aboriginal heritage and often depict dreaming stories, sacred animals - such as the death bird or sea creatures, and the beauty of the natural world. Anthony only begun painting two years ago but is already very committed to his work, " Once I start painting, I can't stop" he says. His paintings display intricate and detailed brushwork combined with a stong sense of colour and design. As an emerging, young artist Anthony's dedication to his practice has already begun to earn him significant recognition in the art world. He has has sold much of his early work and his landslide win of the People's Choice Award 2007 NSW National Parks and Wildlife Indigenous Art Award at Grafton Regional Gallery was followed almost immediately by Two Highly Commended prizes in the Yugilbar Indigenous Art Award, 2007, also held at Grafton Regional Gallery. Anthony Duval lives and works in Grafton NSW Australia with his six children and wife Joana.
