artist profile

Established as a custom goldsmith, emerging as a sculptor and painter, Christina Khumari's skills and expertise cover various areas. She has spent over twenty years working in precious metals and gemstones, five years concentrating on larger scale sculpture in non precious materials and found objects, and a lifetime addressing an irrepressible need to create.

"That place where one thing becomes another, where realistic images become abstract, where abstraction becomes recognisable, where everyday objects become strange and strange becomes fascinating, that is the place where all the possibilities exist. That is the place that I attempt to draw out and bring attention to, that place in all of us that is full of wonder."
