artist profile

I’m a 53 year old Bundjalung/Goorie (Aboriginal) man, born in Casino (North Coast of New South Wales) and a self taught artist/signwriter. I’ve been painting since the late 80’s and consider my works of art to be abstract/design. I paint on canvas, calico, paper & clothing & use acrylic/fabric paints plus permanent ink. Some of the themes which show in my artwork, are about the various aspects of life plus that of the human kind and the expression of emotions/feelings that are attached (Well I try to do this). I cannot describe the designs I do, but many of my designs I simply see as pleasing to the eye and nothing more. The only way I can describe myself wanting to be an artist is that it just seems to come from within me. I also enjoy expressing myself in writing. Currently I am painting wall hangings & to date I have sold 8 paintings and given 10 to family members as gifts.
