artist profile

Garth was born in 1967 and is a member of the Bundjalung tribe. He resides in Fingal Head, Northern NSW.

Garth’s ancestry is that of Aboriginal and South Sea Islander. His art reflects his origins but is not restricted by it. Garth’s cultural mix provides much of the inspiration for his art but his interest is in modern interpretations rather than traditional forms.

His studies include an Aboriginal Arts and Culture Certificate from Kingscliff T.A.F.E., a Fine Arts Certificate Level IV from Murwillumbah T.A.F.E. and a Ceramics Certificate Level III from Murwillumbah T.A.F.E.

“I hope my art will make a contribution to creating a strong and free cultural future for all.”
